(Romans 12:6-8 MSG) If you preach, just preach God’s message, nothing else; if you help, just help, don’t take over; if you teach, stick to your teaching; if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don’t get bossy; if you’re put in charge, don’t manipulate; if you’re called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don’t let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face.
The Apostle Paul continues the thought about each of having a God planned purpose in this life, and he gives us the humble way to carry out our purpose. No purpose is more important than the other. As a Christian you have a part in God’s eternal plan. You can’t get any more essential than that. Jesus, the center of God’s eternal plan, walked a very humble existence as an example for us. So we humbly do what God has given us to do, and we keep a smile on our face. Be assured we can’t do anything toward our purpose without his ever present help.
I’ll be continuing with Romans Chapter 12 after the Christmas Holiday. Merry Christmas!
